ARE THESE WEBSITES EASY TO MAINTAIN?

Yes, Showit is a cloud hosted website design platform, which means you don't have to worry about technical maintenance and updates. That all happens automatically.

For design customization, Showit is by far the easiest platform to learn and use, with complete creative freedom. 
Plus, once your website is ready, I'll record a video to show you how to customize everything yourself. 

Also, you get access to my members-only Help Center where you can find much more help. If you still can't figure it out, you can always contact me. Depending on the level of difficulty, I will then point you in the right direction or quote you a price to do it for you.

HOW ABOUT THE WEBSITE HOSTING?

Showit hosts your website and is a cloud hosted website design platform, which means you don't have to worry about security, technical maintenance and updates. That all happens automatically.

You create your own Showit account ( if necessary with my help) and pay the hosting services directly to Showit.

If you want to maintain/update your site yourself, then you communicate with Showit about any technical issues without my intervention.

You can also opt for a Service Subscription: in that case the communication with Showit, if desired, can go through me (hours are registered as service).

AM I STUCK WITH A SUBSCRIPTION FOR A LONG TIME?

If you choose to use a Service Subscription, you can cancel it at any time (with one month's notice).

If you decide to stop running your website on Showit and choose another platform (e.g. Wordpress or Squarespace), you can also cancel your Showit account at any time. 

Unfortunately, you will not be able to take the design with you and you will have to rebuild your site elsewhere (yourself). I do not offer any support for this other than disconnecting the domain and transferring the domain name registration (if applicable).

I WANT A WORDPRESS SITE, DO YOU MAKE THAT TOO?

No, aside from the many creative benefits, I chose Showit because I no longer wanted to facilitate the technical maintenance of a Wordpress website for others. There are still a few clients I maintain the Wordpress website for, but I no longer take on new Wordpress website projects.

WHO PROVIDES COPY AND IMAGES FOR THE SITE?

As a client, you will provide the complete content such as text and images to me.

During our clarity call it will become clear if you already have all the material I need and how you can provide it to me (I have a clear step-by-step process for this).

If you don't yet have a brand identity, photo material and copy, I will be happy to help you with this. In that case, choose the additional 'Brand for Site-package'.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A BRAND YET?

Without a brand identity I can't (yet) start designing your website. I'm happy to help you with this by either referring you to a colleague graphic designer to get your corporate identity designed and (if you need help with copy for the website) a copywriter.

You can also choose to purchase my additional Brand for Site package, in which case I will create a Brand board (with choice of colors, fonts and photos and other graphic material) and create a simple text logo for you.

Once you're happy with your new branding, I can get right to work designing your website.

WHAT IF I WANT PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS FOR MY SITE?

In case your budget allows it, of course that's great! Many clients do not (yet) have a budget for a photo shoot. In many cases you can use stock photos for your website, there is a lot of good imagery on the Internet. 

Should your budget allow: professional photos not only give your audience a better idea of who you are and what you do, it is also more personal and makes them feel connected to you and your way of working. Plus, it's super cool to have beautiful photos taken just for you!

ARE THE SHOWN PRICES ALSO WHAT I END UP PAYING?

Yes. After our introductory meeting I will make you an offer based on the prices of the packages as listed on the website and customized to your needs.

If your site needs an extra service, such as the design and setup of a membership area using Memberspace or the integration of an automated email marketing tool like Flodesk or Mailchimp, this will cost extra. I will include that in the quote in advance, so you'll have no unexpected costs.
